How often should I have my eyes checked?

It is recommended that adults undergo an eye examination every one to two years. Patients with diabetes, hypertension, or a family history of eye disease may require more frequent check-ups.

When should I see an eye specialist?

You should see an ophthalmologist if you experience blurred vision, double vision, eye pain, light flashes, redness, or sudden vision loss. Early diagnosis prevents long-term damage.

What is the difference between an optometrist and an ophthalmologist?

An optometrist examines eyes and prescribes lenses, while an ophthalmologist is a medical doctor who can diagnose diseases, prescribe medication, and perform surgeries.

Is cataract surgery safe?

Yes. Cataract surgery is a safe and effective procedure performed under local anaesthesia. Most patients experience improved vision within days.

Can diabetes affect my eyes?

Yes. High blood sugar can cause diabetic retinopathy, which may lead to vision loss. Regular eye check-ups are vital for early detection.

Can I visit the clinic without a referral?

Yes, appointments can be made directly. Referrals from other doctors are also accepted for further evaluation or surgery.

How can I maintain healthy vision?

Eat a balanced diet, stay hydrated, protect your eyes from UV light, avoid smoking, reduce screen time, and attend regular eye exams.
